How is the future in computer programming?

Can one have a good future by programming websites and other programming?

Is there a future, like when I'm 40, will i still have aplace to work?

How is the future in computer programming?
That's a good question.

I guess there's no guarantee, but heading into web programming isn't a bad idea. The key to longterm success is the ability to try and learn the new languages, even though you can pretty much do the same thing with all of them.

A lot of people predict that online software is the next generation.

But in general, computer programming is not dying in the least bit.
Reply:When you're 40, you should be a project- manager, or something like that. You can't keep programming all the time, actually, no one would give you that job...

And, web development is a good idea, almost all computers will be online in the future, so a desktop software programmer will have les chance. You can learn Java, or C/C++ , to write applications running on all platforms like cell-phones, computers etc.

Good luck
Reply:Well its hard to speculate, as long as you can grow your skills with the times you will be fine, but if youre still using html, then you havent advanced, the only thing you gotta worry about really is teh advancement of code, if you can keep up youll be fine, I remember when everything was HTML, now php is popular, flash editing is a must and whatnot, if you cant expand then you have no place prospering in any profession.

Reply:If you're asking this as in the "I want to major in Computer Science" way, I would say that you can have a solid future in programming software of any kind if you work hard and actually enjoy programming.

In four years, many of the languages and standards we use now will have changed or become obsolete. Programmers get good jobs by being bright, nimble, and up to date.

Your school's job is to teach you to think like a programmer, regardless of the language du jour. Your job is to be willing to accept and learn new things. A little creativity goes a long way as well.

If you don't LOVE programming, and if you're tempted to pursue another career like medicine, the other choice could be worth thinking about. You can always code in your free time at home. You can't perform surgery at 4am at home in the dark with a Mountain Dew in hand.
Reply:Websites, most definetly... just think of the growin number of Online buisnesses... they all need their Web developing team :)
Reply:You can have good career by making websites but the money that people are making right now may slow down a bit. You will have to keep up with the new technology and study hard. Age is not a factor but you get slower in learning as you grow old.
Reply:Most likely. A lot of jobs look for people with computer skills to hire. Its a great skill.
Reply:Yes.

You will have a good future by learning web development and software development.

The web development will increase in the future, but as we need more resources to use locally, the desktop programmers will also have lots of jobs.

The future will bring the web and desktop programmers together because all the software to be bulid will communicate with servers from the web and also will perform jobs in the client's machine.
