What can we do to get Americans committed to supporting programs to help children?

why are rich people just sit there and ask "What can we do to get Americans committed to supporting programs to help children?" like lawrence fishburn, clay aiken and more... why don't they just get up there and help those children instead of asking stupid question?

What can we do to get Americans committed to supporting programs to help children?
They could but any $ they used or effort they made would be short term and have little impact in the long term scheme of things. I think they are hoping to make long term changes to solve some of the issues. United States has the worse statistics for children's health and well being of any of the major developed countries. I'm ashamed.
Reply:People have to help each other. If you sit and wait for your government to do it you'll be waiting till the cows come home.

You're right, there are plenty of people with power and money, but many are too greedy. There are a lot who do help and do many things too however.

Actions speak louder than words that's for sure.

However, you should not speak out against someone unless you know for sure they are not doing something. Most people are very involved in causes, but there are those who have so much and can do much more who don't. They only do enough to keep the attention off them for not doing nothing at all.
Reply:How do you know they don't.
Reply:They try to influence the masses with their "star power". They should quit taking advantage of the "elbow rubbing" wannabes. Thank you for asking the question...I've got my own problems to deal with.
Reply:because there is not enough powerful image to HIT them, like my poem here

Behold the sorry sight of children

Of dark circles beneath a child eye

Illuminated the secrets buried deep

The curses that hunts the African plains

A photograph revered and admired

That told the reviewers the sources of pain

A black mother embracing herself

Stare hopelessly at her dead son in a feast of flies

The tragedy the shame and the pain and abuse

Reviewed as scenes in pictured form of arts

Watching the world comments on CNN

The deaf poet never had time to sleep

Mia Farrow was on Martha Stewart one morning recently. She was speaking of her work in Africa ...... She was asked by someone in the audience where to donate funds so that the donations would get to

the people they were meant to help ....

She answered that we could always trust the UNICEF , Genocide Intervention, Save Darfur, and Save the Children

It is in times like these, she said, when we are judged by what we do ..... or do not do!

Peace %26amp; Love
Reply:If you don't get on the TV and ask the questions.. How will you get the air time and the notoriety for your donations?!?
