Does the United States have programs to help the homeless?

Like people to give them a temporary home and help them find jobs.

Does the United States have programs to help the homeless?
The Salvation Army does alot of great work to help homeless people...And other charities and churches have shelters and food pantrys, soup kitchen etc...


The US govt doesn't do much to help anyone who is homeless...
Reply:it does offer some chapter 8 type help with affordable housing
Reply:It depend on the city they are living in.
Reply:Each city has different government and nonprofit services to help the homeless with temporary shelter, permanent housing, jobs and mental health care.
Reply:Not that I know of.


My sister was homeless.


She did get to stay in a couple of ratty looking places with drunk people trying to hold it togeather and different street people.





1 night only there was no gurantee of an opening. Useually full.





To find a job you need an address.


then you need clean clothes


showers


food


warmth


sleep


Where are they giving that out in the USA.
Reply:Of course, but Canada has a much better program.
Reply:well, we pretend to at least. we never address the cause, we just try to eliminate the symptom.
