What language is taught in a computer programming class and what classes can I take simultaneously?

I am planning on attending BYU and taking computer programming classes there and I was wondering what language is taught there so I might be able to get a headstart with some internet tutorials. Also I was curious as to what classes I should start out with and what classes I should wait to take until I know the basics. Here is a website that shows their classes http://cs.byu.edu/courses/

You can start with C++ or basic. A fun easy thing to learn using tutorials might be HTML to start. Java would be helpful but it's more advanced. Get a compiler and start practicing - it's actually quite fun. Good luck
Reply:awww programming language...theres nothing like it...one word "CODE".......not easy...but once you get the hang of it you'll fly by. just google it or use yahoo or whatever.

good luck with the code
Reply:their site does not seem to show what language they are specifically using for a tool. however, starting with C or C++ would be a quick start as their coding conventions are somewhat universal that will make it easier for you to go into Java, Perl and/or PHP which are quite famous as of the moment
Reply:I'm pretty sure that the first language you learn in a comp course is BASIC, it is the building blocks for all computer programs out there today.
